Eye Examinations

Deterioration in your eyesight can be so gradual that it sometimes goes unnoticed. This is why a professional examination and regular eye tests are essential. They can also give clues to general health as well as eye sight conditions.

At Nicklins we recommend a regular eye examination every one or two years, as a vital part of your general health care, for you and all your family.

Personal Eye Testing

Our fully qualified optometrists, Mr Roger Nicklin and
Mr Andrew Dodgson will conduct a thorough eye examination to establish the standard of your eyesight and the health of your eyes, looking for early signs of cataracts, glaucoma and other conditions. Problems such as diabetes, high blood pressure and vascular disease can also be detected.

Advice will be given if any vision correction or a new prescription is required. You will be given your eye test prescription, and advised when your next eye examination will become due. If there are signs of any condition or general health problems, we may recommend additional eye tests, referral to your doctor or an ophthalmologist for further investigation.

National Health Service

Nicklins will be pleased to advise if you are entitled to National Health Service Eye Examination. Individuals (those under the age of 16, under 19 in full time education and the over 60s) are entitled to a free NHS Eye Test. Persons suffering from other conditions, such as glaucoma and diabetes, also qualify for free eye tests. Please consult with Nicklins for further details.
